I stayed home saturday to get all my year end receipts in order, also cleaned house and put away the Christmas decorations. Charlie worked at the shop, so I made my own supper, I tried the Sherried tomato soup from pioneer woman. it was nice, nothing spectacular but with the temps being in the 30's here, soup was good! I also made her broiled French bread. It was good little supper!

Takoyaki food truck back in March. I love Tanota. If you never tried Takoyaki before, try their takoyaki. They are delicious. If you've had takoyaki at Japanese cafe/restaurants in L.A. and didn't like it, that's because their takoyaki is pre-made frozen.

New place! And their dumplings are $3.99. Well, I had to check out.
The lady who took my order didn't speak/ understand English well. I asked her if I can order 5pcs each of vegetable dumplings and kimchi dumplings, since they are both same prices (one order is 10 pieces). I clearly explained to her, and she said yes, so of course I thought she understood. But 5 minutes later, I got the bill, and it says $44. She placed my order with 5 orders each of Kimchi dumplings and veg dumplings, that's total 100 pieces. I said "no no no!" lol. Well, I talked with someone else who understand English and everything was fine, except I didn't get vegetable dumplings I ordered, they gave me beef dumplings. I was already home so.. oh well..

No to go order for Spicy noodle soup and Jajang Myeun

Dumplings (10pcs) $3.99

As you can see, each dumpling is small.

And I ordered vegetable dumplings, but to me, it looks like beef dumplings. I'm not vegetarian so I don't have any problem eating it but this is not what I ordered. It was good but greasy.

Lucifers Pizza - Los Feliz

Lucifers Pizza was featured LA weekly's "Best of LA" back in 2011. They opened second location this year. Gluten free and Vegan cheese available. I liked gluten free crust better than regular crust. Somehow I thought it was more flavorful. Also gluten free crust pizzas are smaller than regular crust pizzas. From all the pizzas I tried below, I liked Prosciutto Pollo the best.

And thanks to Groupon for great deal!

menu (Dec, 2012)

Garlic Bread

Prosciutto Pollo with half no cheese (L)
Prosciutto, chicken, fresh basil, caramelized onion, fresh mozzarella

Zucha with half no cheese (L)
Pumpkin, olives, feta, zucchini, red bell pepper and spinach

Veggie with gluten free crust
Green bell pepper, mushroom, olives, onion, tomato

Margherita with gluten free crust
Mozzarella, tomato, basil

Greek Lamn & Rosemary with no cheese (L)
Lamb, caramelized onions, kalamata olives, rosemary, garlic, chopped parsley

Thai satay chicken with no cheese (L)
Red onion, sun-dried tomato, green bell pepper, shredded chicken, noodles, that peanut sauce

Lamb & Rosemary, and Thai satay chicken. Unfortunately, I didn't like Thai satay chicken because the chicken was dark meat and I just don't like dark meat. If it was breast meat, I probably liked it.

About a week ago, I was invited to media dinner at Asiana Grill Yoshinoya in Downtown, L.A, along to bring one guest but I asked little favor to bring two so I can go with NuttyNomads. We all shared all the food below. Yeah, we love to eat and we do eat a lot.

Asiana Grill Yoshinoya is casual fast-food type of cafe with modern decor, but using fresh and healthy ingredients.  This Downtown location was very clean and nice.

So here's how Asiana Grill works. You become the chef and order your meal put together the way you like it. Combine serving styles, proteins and sauces to match exactly the flavor you’re craving. With over 180 combinations, you’ve got a lot of options.

From healthy ingredients to how they prepare your order fresh when you place it. And talk about fresh… their yellow buns are baked fresh every day. Even green tea is prepared fresh daily. That’s a lot of fresh.
